Feature Exhibition: Impressions
Beth Hammond and Bel Stanley
April 19 - 28 | Nautius Arts Centre - Walter Nicholls Gallery
SALT Festival 2024 Feature Exhibition, Impressions, where the artistic Journeys of Belle Stanley and Beth Hammond converge, inviting you to explore the boundless wonders of nature and the dynamic interplay of colour and memory.
Beth’s work draws inspiration from diverse sources, from a landscape sketch in paint or pencil, the memory of being in the bush on a particular day or a roadtrip through the Australian landscape. Exploring a range of colour combinations and with different sizes and types of surfaces from acrylic perspex, canvas and board.
Belle's creative process is inspired by her deep love of wandering around in nature, from the remote endless beaches around the EP to following kangaroo trails through the scrub, this is the beginning of the process for all her work. Belles work explores the different shapes and textures she finds in nature, and drawing from her knowledge of silversmithing techniques, she captures the essence and beauty of the EP in her work.
