From the artist behind the SALT Festival Poster for 2026, Gabrielle Waters brings an exhibition to the SALT Shaker!
Suspended here in a pastel world, these plastic soldiers strike a serious pose, mid-battle, rigid, voiceless.
Moulded and mass produced in green, brown, and cream, they come equipped with rifles, grenades and bravado. They quietly teach children about power, control, the ally & the enemy long before they understand the weight of war.
Set against a gentle backdrop, Individually, all alone, they seem misplaced here, like they showed up for war but found themselves in a watercolour dream.
It is against the soft tones, their seriousness melts a little, as if they aren't even sure what they are fighting for anymore.
